Suncook Youth Soccer Recreational Program

Suncook Youth Soccer is our Recreational Soccer program.

Recreational Soccer is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without an emphasis on competition.  The focus is not on the score at the end of the game or on the record at the end of the season, but rather providing an opportunity for young soccer players to have fun, get outside and exercise, learn how to play soccer, experience being part of a team, and foster a love of the game.

Each player who registers to participate in recreational soccer will be assigned to a team and will have an opportunity to play, regardless of skill level.  Teams are generated randomly and each player is equal playing time in each game.  Coaches will focus on teaching the rules of the game, position play, essential skills, and strive for overall development of players.

Recreational Soccer Frequently Asked Questions

When do you play soccer?
We offer two recreational soccer programs a year, Spring and Fall.

Spring Season:
Our spring program is called Spring Kickers.  It is a 6 week season which typically begins in April and ends just before school gets out in June.

Fall Season:
The fall soccer season is 8-9 weeks, beginning at the end of August and ending at the beginning of November.

What ages can play soccer?

Suncook Youth Soccer offers players as young as 3 and as old as 12 opportunities to play soccer.  Our divisions are U4, U6, U8, U10, and U12.  We follow the US Soccer guidelines for determining age groups which is based on birth year.  You can find a detailed birth year chart in the Divisions section of the website which will help you figure out which division your child should register for.

What is the time commitment?
Spring Soccer:
The spring season is more about fun and is less of a commitment than fall soccer.   U4 and U6 divisions play for approximately 45 - 60 minutes on Sunday mornings.  U8, U10, and U10 play 60-90 minutes on Sunday mornings and have 1 additional game during the week.

Fall Soccer: Teams generally have one to two games and one practice per week.  For U4 and U6, games are typically on Saturday mornings and often practice is right before games (coaches discretion).  U8, U10, and U12 can play games during the week as well as on Saturdays and often practice during the week.

Where do they play?

Games and most practices are held at Memorial Field in Pembroke.  On occasion we also use the field at Allenstown Elementary School.  U10 and U12 divisions participate in inter-league play with Manchester Youth Soccer so games can also be held at Livingston Park in Manchester.
