What ages can play travel soccer?
We currently have four Spartans travel soccer teams: U9 Boys, U11 Boys, U13 Girls, and U13 Boys. Girls are welcome to tryout for a boys team if a girls team is not offered in their age group.
When are tryouts?
Tryouts are held once a year in June and are generally 1-2 hours of various demonstrations of skill. In order to considered for a travel team all players MUST attend the tryout session. Once a player is selected for a travel team in the fall they are on the team for the entire year (fall, winter, spring).
What is the cost?
The cost to participate in travel soccer is significantly more than recreational soccer. Participation in the fall program is $195, the winter sessions, typically 2, are approximately $195 each session and the spring program is approximately $195.00. These estimates depend on how many players are on each team and there could be additional tournament costs. You can anticipate the yearly investment to be between $500-$600 per player. Part of the registration cost allows each player to receive a full uniform kit.
What is the time commitment?
Travel soccers primary season is in the fall (August - October). U11 and older are playoff division and depending on the record could participate in playoffs into early November. Travel teams play 1-2 games a week and typically practice twice a week. Games can be played anywhere in the State of NH with most games being within 1 hour of travel. Teams may also participate in inter-season tournaments that are typically held over a weekend and can be 2-4 games depending on results.
It is up to the coach of each travel team to decide if the team will play indoor soccer in the winter and spring soccer in the spring. It is often the case, and is the goal of the program, that because travel soccer is competitive, club level league, coaches choose to keep the athletes playing soccer year round and will register the teams for winter and spring soccer. Those players who were selected for teams in the fall are expected to participate in winter and spring seasons if the team registers.
Where do they play?
Home games and practices are held at either Memorial Field or the Buck Street Fields in Pembroke or Allenstown Elementary School in Allenstown. Away games can be played anywhere in the State of NH with most games being within 1 hour of travel.
What if my child tries out but does not make the team?
Any child who tries out for travel soccer but is not selected for a team has the opportunity to play in the recreational league and will be guaranteed a spot on a rec team.
